Why You Should Choose Green and not Black this Friday

Black Friday has always been about electronics but this year it’s all about Sustainability. With dramatic climate events happening all around the world, consumers are now looking beyond price to guide their purchasing behaviour. Over seven in ten Australians believe brands have a responsibility to make a positive change in the world and a report by McKinsey says, “60 percent of people considered a brand’s ethics while shopping”.

This is one of the reasons why our Australian made baby brand Kit & Cradle has found a niche following amongst mums including Miss Universe Australia Monika Radulovic, author Kat Sabbath and Miss Universe USA Olivia Jordan.

Created in 2020 with a focus on ethical and responsible business practices and  producing garments with 100% organic cotton, Kit & Cradle chooses to work with Australian makers and suppliers. Our brand features hand drawn designs by Australian artists which are printed in Melbourne and sewn in Sydney. We love that our brand is authentically Australian because it’s designed, sourced, printed and made here with love. We know that with every sale there is a flow on effect that benefits Australian workers and the Australian textile industry.

According to Roy Morgan research, if every household spent an additional $10 a week on Australian Made products, it would inject an extra $5 billion into the economy each year and create up to 11,000 new jobs. With higher unemployment rates predicted for 2023 - 2024, we’re hopeful that by taking these small steps we can create a brighter future for our children.
